VeriDash Disclaimer
This Disclaimer (hereinafter the "Disclaimer") sets forth the limitations, rights, and obligations that users must acknowledge and agree to, in light of the distinctive nature of the VeriDash service (hereinafter the "Service") — integrity verification of vehicle dashcam footage + marketing for use as legal evidence. This Disclaimer is effective together with the Terms of Service, and in the event of any conflict between the two, the Terms of Service shall prevail.
1. Technical Limitations of Integrity Verification
The SHA-256 hash-chain-based integrity verification provided by the company is a tool that proves the following:
Technically verifies that a video file has not been altered within the company's systems from the time it was uploaded to the company's cloud storage (R2) Detects whether any clips are missing through continuity between adjacent videos (prev_hash matching) This verification does NOT guarantee the following: Integrity of the footage on the device from just before recording to just before upload (the user can edit it arbitrarily on the device) Accuracy of the time and GPS information recorded in the footage (depends on the device clock and GPS, which may be erroneous) Admission of evidence by courts or other judicial authorities — see Article 3 of this Disclaimer
2. Possibility of Tampering with Footage on the Device
This Service is structured so that the user records footage through the mobile app. In the following cases, the footage is not protected by the company's integrity verification:
Where the user arbitrarily modifies device files through Android ADB, root privileges, iOS jailbreak, etc. Where footage is recorded with an app or tool other than the VeriDash app and then imported into the VeriDash app (this feature is not currently supported) Where the device time or GPS has been artificially manipulated
3. Disclaimer Regarding Admissibility as Legal Evidence
Although the company markets this Service as "preservation of vehicle footage usable as legal evidence," this means the following:
The company's integrity verification may serve as favorable supporting material for obtaining admissibility of evidence in court However, it does not, in itself, result in automatic admission as evidence in court — this is NOT guaranteed in any jurisdiction, including Korea, the United States, or the EU Actual admissibility and probative value are determined by the court on a case-by-case basis depending on factors such as:
The reliability of the footage's source and recording environment The consistency between the user's testimony and the footage The court's understanding of the technical explanation of the integrity verification Whether the opposing party raises objections If a user intends to submit footage from this Service as legal evidence, we strongly recommend obtaining advice from an attorney or legal expert in advance.
4. Responsibility for Third-Party Portrait Rights and Privacy
The personal rights, such as portrait rights and privacy rights, of third parties (pedestrians, drivers and passengers of other vehicles, etc.) appearing in footage recorded and shared through this Service are subject to the following:
Recording itself: Under Article 15 of the Korean "Personal Information Protection Act" and related case law, vehicle dashcam recording on public roads may constitute a legitimate interest; however, illegality may be recognized depending on the specific circumstances Sharing/posting: When footage in which a third party's face is identifiable is shared on social media, YouTube, internet message boards, etc., legal liability for defamation or infringement of portrait rights may arise Submission as legal evidence: Submission itself is generally not unlawful, but use outside the court (e.g., social media, retaliatory disclosure) may incur liability for infringement The company assumes no responsibility whatsoever for such liability, and we strongly recommend using the company's face mosaic processing feature (beta) to obscure third parties' faces before sharing or posting.
5. Limitations of Face Mosaic Processing (Beta)
The face mosaic processing feature provided by the company is in the beta stage and has the following limitations:
ML Kit Face Detection may fail to detect faces under conditions such as profile (side) faces, partially obscured faces, faces wearing masks, nighttime, or backlighting Only faces that the user manually taps and marks are mosaicked — unmarked faces are not processed In the current beta stage, a static mosaic is applied based on the position of the face at the moment of pause — the mosaic may not follow the face as it moves within the footage The company does not warrant the completeness or accuracy of the mosaic processing results, and the user is responsible for reviewing the processing results themselves before sharing or posting the processed version.
6. Disclaimer Regarding Service Availability and Data Loss
The company aims for 99.9% availability but does not guarantee it The company shall not be liable for loss of footage or metadata in the following cases:
Natural disasters, power outages, or communication failures Where the user deletes the footage themselves (including by mistake) Expiration of the retention period of the subscribed plan Permanent deletion after account withdrawal
7. Technology Changes and Migration
The technology stack of this Service (Cloudflare R2, Supabase, ffmpeg, etc.) may change. With respect to changes in data compatibility and accessibility arising from technology changes, the company will:
Provide advance notice 60 days before the change Support automatic migration where possible Not bear any obligation to compensate for inconvenience arising from simple compatibility changes
8. Limitations on Payment and Refunds
Disclaimers regarding payment and refunds are governed by Article 6 of the Terms of Service and the company's official refund policy, not by this Disclaimer.
9. Changes to This Disclaimer
This Disclaimer may be revised in accordance with changes in laws and policies. In the event of significant changes, we will provide notice 30 days in advance and notify users by email.
Addendum: This Disclaimer takes effect on June 12, 2026. Agreeing to this Disclaimer means that the user clearly understands the above limitations and responsibilities and voluntarily uses the Service.
